I've been a sports columnist since 1994. First, in The Freeman newspaper under "Tennis Is My Game." Then, starting in 2003, with Sun.Star Cebu under the name "Match Point." Happy reading!

  1. Wow! So triathlon is still very much alive in Cebu. Congratulations to the sugbutriathletes for the recently concluded pipti2x tri in Catmon! I would have been there if not for the thirsty annual soccer festival last weekend. See you guys for the summer sportscapade this April in Bantayan and the TRAP series this July in Sogod! Let’s keep TRI-ing….!!!

  2. nice pictures and a well written article john! see you all again in danao triathlon in two weeks time it will be fun.. john get a road bike soon.. its really tuff getting of the bike and preparing your legs to run but you will get used to it.. 🙂 ciao!

  3. Yeah! ur right, RJ! was expecting u guys in the Subic Triathlon last August but there were only two of us from Cebu, Trino and myself. I thought the cebuano triathletes have gone extinct. I’m happy we’re still very much alive! GO SUGBUtriathletes! Keep it up!

  4. BRO. CARLO: good to hear from you. See you soon!

    RJ: Thanks!

DAX: Yes it was tough with the bike-to-run transition. Heavy kaayo ang legs. hehe. Have to get used to it pa. See you in Danao
