I Want that iPhone!

Ever since last January when Steve Jobs stood on stage in San Francisco and waved it to the crowd, billions have drooled at the thought of holding an iPhone. Well… well, finally, in what is considered “the most highly-anticipated consumer gadget in history,” the iPhone will emerge out of the cellphone shadows tomorrow (June 29) in the United States.

I love Apple. I own two iPod Shuffles and an iPod 30G Video. Last year, I purchased a white MacBook. To me–and to millions of Mac addicts around this globe–there is no company that produces more intuitive, more simple, more creative, and more stunning gadgets than Apple.

Read this amazing story about Steve Jobs from New York Magazine entitled “Steve Jobs in a Box.” I’ve read his biography, pored through hundreds of stories about Jobs, but this eight-page-long article stands out as one of the most comprehensive I’ve read.

Back to the iPhone, my only complaint?

It arrives in the Philippines next year!

  1. The iphone sounds cool. But I hope their gonna add more features to the phone aside from their web browser cause I’m after the features more than its looks.

  2. Travin, yup… the iPhone looks cool. No, it looks very, very cool. It’s the first phone of it’s kind and I’m sure Nokia and Samsung are banging their heads at the intro of this gadget.

  3. Pass.
It’s not really breaking down any new doors. It’s all Apple style (which is brilliant) and flash, but it’s ultimately an MP3 playing phone that is also a PDA. Been done before, but not at a 600$ price point.
Great to see you’ve entered into the 20th century John! love the blog!

  4. Dan, you’re right with the $600 price tag. It’s too expensive. Still, for a Mac/Apple afiocionado like myself, I can’t wait for it to land in the PHilippines… but that’s still in 2008! (That good news is, by then they’ve fixed the numerous bugs that trouble most first version releases.)
